Music from Muse really stands out

Muse - Origin Of Symmetry (Mushroom Records)
Five Stars

The Stairway to heaven, it seems, lies in Devon.
Muse, the Devonian trio, headed by Matt Bellamy have released their second album, Origin of Symmetry, and it's even better than their debut, Showbiz, which won then NME's Best New British Band award.
Origin of Symmetry is quite simply a masterpiece. Some of you may already be familiar with the singles, Plug in Baby, and Newborn, which are both filled with superlative metallic riffs and angst filled vocals provided by lead singer Matt Bellamy.
However, the singles are by no means the highlight of this mindblowing album.
Screenager, Microcuts and Hyper Music are all topnotch songs, with Microbes showing that Muse's claims of a grunge background aren't unfounded, as Bellamy & Co let rip with dark riffs that embarrass most other bands.
All these points make Muse really stand out of the crowd as something original and Origin of Symmetry is bound to skyrocket their fame.
Stand back Fred Durst and Coby Dick, this is what music sounds like.
