(MUSE) KROQ Show boasts galaxy of stars at annual bash
January 8th 2005, Issue #1038
Velvet Revolver, Green Day, Muse and Sum 41 all performed live at the "KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas" concert in Los Angeles on December 11 and 12.
The annual event, sponsored by Los Angeles rock radio station KROQ, was held at the 6000-capacity Universal Amphitheatre.
The Saturday night concert featured sets from Muse, Jimmy Eat World, Interpol and The Music. The following evening bill was full of extra special Christmas surprises. Green Day chose to ignore their legacy of hits and instead performed their "American Idiot" rock opera in its entirety to the delight of the crowd. Not to be outdone, Incubus invited two members from legendary 80s rockers The Police onstage. Drummer Stewart Copeland and Andy Summers helped the California rockers perform cover versions of classic songs "Roseanne" and "Message In A Bottle". Good Charlotte, My Chemical Romance, Papa Roach, Social Distortion, The Used and Velvet Revolver also performed at the festive show.
Santa, however, could not attend the star studded bash due to "prior commitments"...
